Artur Szyk, also Arthur Szyk (1894-1951) – graphic artist, book illustrator, set designer, caricaturist. He was born in Poland under Russian rule into a Jewish family. From 1921 he lived in France, and from 1937 in Great Britain. In 1940 he emigrated to the United States, where in 1948 he received American citizenship.
