Biography:

Julius Gyula Zorkoczy (1873-1932) Hungarian landscape painter. Zorkoczy attended a drawing school where he obtained a diploma as an art teacher. Then he studied in the studio of Bertalan Székely, a Hungarian romantic painter specializing in painting pictures with militaristic and historical themes. From 1907 he exhibited at the National Salon. Zorkoczy specialized in painting rural landscapes in which he often showed animals. His paintings are characterized by excellent technique and a vivid color palette.
