Wiktor Korecki - landscape with sunset

Biography:

Wiktor Korecki (born 1890 in Kamieniec Podolski, died 1980 in Komorów) - Polish landscape painter. He attended high school in Kiev. He studied there at the Mikołaj Muraszka Drawing School. In 1921, he moved to Warsaw, where he founded his own studio, which burned down in 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising. During the Second Polish Republic, he participated in exhibitions of the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw. After the Uprising, he was sent to the forced labor camp in Leipzig through the Pruszków camp. After the war, he lived in Komorów, then in Milanówek. He painted mainly landscapes, especially winter ones. His paintings are in Polish, Ukrainian and Russian painting collections.
